John Rutherford Memorial Scholarships

Two $1,000.00 College Scholarships are awarded each year to graduating seniors who demonstrate outstanding community service and academic performance.

Two graduates residing in Tonawanda and two from in North Tonawanda are selected to receive these scholarships named in honor of the late John Rutherford, who initialized their creation, and who was one of the first Board members to [CFT] Canal Fest of the Tonawandas Inc.

Funds to support these Scholarships are generated from the Annual Canal Fest Golf Tournament. CLICK HERE for more info.

To be eligible, the graduating student must reside in the City of Tonawanda or North Tonawanda and again, demonstrate outstanding community service and academic performance.

Applications are available here on line, The Tonawanda News office and at the following
high schools’ guidance departments;
• Tonawanda High School
• North Tonawanda High School
• Cardinal O'Hara High School
• Mount St. Mary's High School
• St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute

Applications are also available at the Tonawanda and North Tonawanda;
• Public Libraries

DEADLINE to be postmarked: April 1, 2016.

All applicants are reviewed and then selected by committee. Winners will be honored at the CFT Opening Ceremonies and invited to ride in the CFT Parade.
